  • What does MORE stand for?
    MORE stands for “Mathematics – Opportunities in Research and Education”

  • Where will MORE 2022 take place?
    In Fall 2022, the main location of MORE will be at Virginia Tech located in Blacksburg, Virginia. There will be a satellite location at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • How can I find out more about the satellite location of MORE?

  • How do I apply for MORE 2022?
    Applications for MORE 2022 will be given full consideration prior to 11:50 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022. The application form can be found on the Application Page. The same application is used for the main location, satellite location and virtual attendance.

  • How and when will I be notified if I am selected?
    We will notify applicants via email no later than Monday, September 19th.

  • What is my anticipated cost for the conference?
    Thanks to generous support from the NSF, there is little to no cost to attend the fall conference.
    For in-person participants at Virginia Tech, lodging will be provided and driving mileage costs are reimbursable. Unfortunately, we are not able to reimburse airfare. Some food and refreshments will be provided.
    For in-person participants at Emory University, parking on campus will be free and some food and refreshments will be provided.

  • What are the COVID mitigation plans?
    We strongly encourage mask usage and will follow university protocols: Virgnia Tech and Emory University
    We will provide masks for those who do not have them. We will offer all sessions virtually as well as in-person.

  • Can faculty members participate in the workshop?
    Accompanying faculty are welcome and may attend the lectures and panel discussions. The remaining activities are designed for undergraduates only. Please contact us at MORE.math.opportunities@gmail.com if you plan to attend.
    Unfortunately, we do not have funds to support faculty at this time. However, we appreciate if faculty members encourage interested undergraduate students to apply.
