The order of difficulty of the problems indicated by the scores, starting with the hardest, was 5,3,7,6,1,4,2.

Local supervisors will be sent the scores of their contestants soon.

One contestant got at least two problems completely correct (so at least 20 points). Unfortunately the scripts had no registration number, and in spite of hard searching, we were unable to attach a name to the correct solutions.

I would like to thank all the schools who took part, and I hope you will all take part again next year. I also hope that many schools who did not take part this year will take part next year. Watch these WEB pages; even if you do not get an invitation, we will still be delighted for you to take part provided you fill in the registration forms before the closing date for entries.

Because the contest director will be in Germany next Fall, there will be some minor administrative changes. In particular the exam will take place slightly earlier, with Saturday, October 24, 2009 being the most likely date. Occasionally announcements about the competition will be posted in the newsgroup sci.math.
